BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION TRAINING

Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training is a technique in which pressurized bands (which look similar to blood pressure cuffs) are placed on the arms and/or legs.  BFR triggers the body to build more muscle mass than it otherwise would at a lower training intensity.

In the hands of an experienced practitioner, BFR training can be a useful tool to support musculoskeletal rehabilitation for injury and post-surgical recovery and to support strength and muscular conditioning training for athletes and some patients with chronic physical conditions.

Vickie is a Certified Blood Flow Restriction Specialist with certifications through The University of Tennessee and through Hawkgrips training. 

​

During your recovery or return to sport program, BFR Training may be utilized if it is found to be appropriate for your training.
